CreaClip - Review

Hello everyone, I hope you are well!

Today I am going to be reviewing a hair product called the CreaClip.

The CreaClip is a tool you can use that helps to make cutting your hair at home a lot easier! You can use it to keep on top of your current hair styles between salon visits, or if you are like me and you prefer cutting your own hair regularly rather than spending a lot of money at a salon. I prefer styling my own hair and have been doing it myself for a long time now.

I was so happy when I came across this product as it has made cutting my hair so much easier than my usual routine.

CreaClip set* - £19.99

What they say:-
Cut your own hair at home with professional results. For easy and precise cuts everytime! Great for cutting children's hair, trimming bangs, creating layers, or just maintaining a hairstyle between cuts-anytime, any place!

In the Creaclip set you get:-

  • One small CreaClip - For short hair and fringes/bangs
  • One Large Curved CreaClip- For long hair and layers

The CreaClip set contains 2 products that help you to cut length off your hair, trim your fringe or add layers.

Each clip comes in two sizes, they both have a rotating level which means you can cut your hair straight so you aren't left with uneven styles.  You can lock the clip into place which helps to secure your hair without the hassle of the clip moving around.
(pictures taken with Canon A3300is)

General instructions for using the clip:-
  1. Use on clean, dry hair.
  2. Use mirror when trimming your own hair.
  3. Comb out all knots and tangles.
  4. Use sharp haircutting scissors.
  5. Sit or stand straight.
  6. Make sure the level is balanced by checking to see if the bubble is between the two lines.
Instructions for cutting hair (one length)
  1.  Tilt chin forward to chest and clip the long curved CreaClip as close as possible to the hair roots.
  2. Adjust the clip until leveled (use a mirror for this step) and slide clip down to desired length you want to cut.
  3. Bring the hair forward and trim along the bottom of the clip using horizontal or vertical cuts.
*For thick hair you will need to section your hair. I usually split my hair into three sections.
Also if your hair is curly, cut off less! You need to remember that curly hair springs back and will look much shorter than it would on straight hair.*

I did find it a little difficult to cut my hair own my own at first but there are many step by step videos on the CreaClip website and YouTube that will help to show you how to do it and once you get the hang of it, it is very simple!

Pros
  • Lock to secure product whilst cutting your hair
  • Rotating level for precise cuts
  • Teeth to help comb out hair and distribute evenly
  • Easy to use
  • Saves money

Cons
  • Only available online

Overall this product is brilliant!  I have used it a few times already and I love it!
If you want to try out the CreaClip and you live in the UK or Europe then you can visit the CreaClip website, they have a warehouse in the UK for fast shipping and no customs charges all over Europe.

What do you think about this product? Have you used anything similar? Let me know!

February Favourites

Hello everyone, I hope you are well!
Here are my favourite products of last month.

Face
Nivea Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes (normal & combination skin) - Superdrug £2.99
I usually use the Simple Cleansing Wipes but they were out of stock when I went to the store, so instead I picked up the Nivea wipes and I'm glad I did! I have been enjoying them a lot more than the Simple facewipes, they smell amazing and leave my face feeling clean and soft.

Maybelline Colossal Volum Express The Rocket Mascara (Very black) - Superdrug £7.99
I went into Superdrug to repurchase my usual mascara which is the Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Cat Eyes (the yellow one - these names are far too long for my liking!) When I got to the till I was asked if I wanted to try the Rocket one as it was on offer, after requesting to take a look at the wand before purchasing and with very little persuasion I decided to give it a go! At first I was a little unsure about this mascara as I'm not really a fan of the 'plastic bristle' wands but I find this wand is much more flexible than the other harder plastic brushes I've tried in the past and now I am in love with this mascara! It spreads out my eyelashes without clumping and gives me great volume and length - although my eyelashes don't look quite like they do on the advert!

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lash Extending Treatment Mascara - Fragrance Direct £6.50
My boyfriend gave me this as a gift from as part of a Wowcher deal and it was love at first sight! This mascara is brilliant, my eyelashes always look amazing after using this. I tend to use this mascara alongside my main mascara - this is my personal preference as I like the look I get when I layer up my mascaras. However I do wear this on its own on days where I'm not wearing much makeup or if I want a more subtle, natural look.

Hair

Edward Beale Ultra Gloss Argan Oil (normal/coarse thick hair) - TK Maxx £9.99
I found this in TK Maxx last year when I was browsing through the hair care and beauty section. I think this store is amazing, I always find something new to try out and everything I find is usually very reasonably priced!
I have tried many hair oils but it's always nice to try out more! The thing I like about this oil is that it is very lightweight on  my hair and doesn't way it down, it also smells good! I use this on towel dried hair and then go ahead and style my hair as usual. It always feels soft and looks shiny after using this.

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Conditioner - TK Maxx £12.99
My boyfriend's sister bought this back from America for me and I fell in love with it, it seriously is a miracle product! I didn't want to like this product as much as I do because it's not easy to get hold of in the UK (as far as I know) and I know I would have been rather upset when it had ran out. Luckily TK Maxx came to my rescue just in the nick of time! I noticed them when I was Christmas shopping in Manchester so decided to stock up on a few! My hair has never felt so good! I use this every time I wash my hair, it detangles my hair in no time and leaves it feeling soft and extremely moisturised.

Lips

I have had extremely chapped lips for the past few months and these lovely products have been getting me through! As well as my homemade sugar and honey lip scrub!

Nivea Pearly Shine - Superdrug £1.49
I like this lip balm as it gives me a sheer pink tint on the lips which means I can have a hint of colour on my lips at the same time as moisturising them.

EOS Summer Fruit Lip Balm (organic) - Amazon £6.99
Boots now stock a different version of these lip balms called 'Balmi' they cost £4.99 and contain SPF. I don't know how good they are as I haven't tried them for myself but I'm sure they do the same job if not, better!

Vaseline (with Aloe Vera) - Boots £1.99
This is my favourite Vaseline out of all of them mainly because of the smell!  It also works really well under lipsticks.

Nails
(pictures taken with Canon A3300is)

Essie We're in it together- available at Boots £7.99
I have been loving this nail polish as you probably know from my previous blog posts! (take a look here). The colour is gorgeous and I love how it looks on my nails. I actually got this when it was on offer on the Fragrance Direct website but I'm not sure if they stock this colour anymore.

Barry M Diamond Glitter - Boots £2.99
I love the Barry M glitter polishes, I really need to get more! They are a simple way to jazz up your nails when you don't have time for fancy nails designs and patterns.

Nail Art Fine Painting Brushes - Ebay £2.69
I have been looking around for more nail tools in the hope that if I practice nail designs more often then I'll get better at them. These are really easy to use and the fine brush tips make nail designs much simpler to do if you're a beginner like myself I would definitely recommend getting some brushes like these.

What were your February favourites?

Natur Vital Colour Pack - Review

Hello everyone, I hope you are well!

Today I am reviewing the Natur Vital Colour Pack* in the colour Chesnut.

I used this to top up my hair colour after I dyed it darker a few weeks ago. My current hair colour is medium/dark brown and this pack worked perfectly on my colour.

The treatment packs are available from the Natur Vital website and retail at £9.99 which I think is a great price for the quality of the product.

This product does contain dye so I treated this the same as if I was using a regular hair dye and applied Vaseline around my hair line and on my neck before using the product to prevent any staining. I also used old towels and made sure the area I was working in was covered up etc.

(Pictures taken with Nikon D3100)

Active Ingredients
  • Wheat germ - Used in cosmetics for its vitamin properties and restructuring of hair keratin and antioxidants.
  • Sunflower seed extract - Protects colour of natural and coloured hair.
  • Henna- Natural hair dye that has strengthening properties.
  • Aloe Vera - Moisturises and sooths skin.

Directions

Step 1 Shampoo - Apply the cleansing shampoo to wet hair and massage in gently. Leave on hair for a few minutes and rinse out with plenty of warm water.

Step 2 Mask - After rinsing out the shampoo apply the mask on to wet hair. Comb through from the roots to ends and leave to work for 3-5 minutes. During this time, wash hands thoroughly to avoid any staining. Rinse hair thoroughly and style as usual.

Summary

Pros:
  • Lasts a long time.
  • Can be used on coloured and non-coloured hair.
  • Makes hair shiny.
  • Good amount of product.
  • Doesn't smell too strong

Cons:
  • Lessens contrast of colours on highlighted hair.

Overall my experience with this product was good and I would definitely use this again!
This product worked really well in my hair and the colour was noticeably different, I was very please at how shiny and glossy my hair was afterwards!

Have you tried this product before or any other products by Natur Vital?

Mini Haul

Whenever I go shopping I can never help myself popping into Boots or looking down the beauty aisles in the supermarket which means I always end up spending money that I don't have!
Today I'm going to share a few products that I have recently purchased that I am excited to try out!

(Taken with Canon A3300is)

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment 200ml £7.99
I have used this treatment mask a few times but I still am yet to finish this tub!
This is one of my favourite hair treatment masks but I always end up forgetting I have it and end up using my other ones as I have lots and lots of hair treatment masks because I use heat on my hair quite often and anyway you can never have to many in my opinion!
I'm thinking of doing a full review on this product, if you would be interested in a reading a review then let me know!

VO5 Give Me Moisture Conditioner (Dry Hair) 250ml £1.00 on offer
I have heard many positive things about this range of VO5 hair products so I thought I would purchase a smaller bottle to try out. I am really excited to see what all the fuss is about!

Clean & Clear Morning Energy Shine Control Daily Scrub 150ml £3.99
I don't often use Clean & Clear products the only products I have tried before are from the Morning Energy range is the Skin Energising Scrub and the Brightening Scrub, many people like these two facial scrubs so I thought I would try out the Shine Control one to see if it lives up to the others! Fingers crossed!

Clean & Clear Fast Action Spot Treatment Gel 15ml £2.00 on offer
I am a sucker for purchasing products that claim to be 'fast acting spot removers' whenever I see a label that states my spots will be gone overnight I have to buy it!! (I am still waiting for that product to come along) maybe this could be the answer to my prayers?!

Nivea Oil-free Moisturising Day Cream 50ml £3.99
I know a lot of people who use this moisturiser as part of their everyday skincare routine! I purchased this after seeing it in one of Leanne Woodfull's YouTube videos. Hopefully this works well for me it would definitely be a cheaper alternative to the Liz Earle Light Moisturiser!

Please share your thoughts! Have you tried any of these products?

Dove Overnight Intensive Repair Creme - Review

Hello everyone, I hope you are well!

Today I want to share my love of Dove's Overnight Intensive Repair Creme. I have been using this for quite a while now and feel it is time to rave about this product! I featured it in my July Favourites and today I want to tell you why I like it so much! I purchased this for £4.99, it is now on offer in Superdrug (take a look here).

I bought this product after my holiday, the chlorine from the pool and being in the sun for prolonged periods of time had taken its toll on my hair and I was in desperate need of an intensive hair treatment!

Dove Overnight Intensive Repair Creme 120ml (more info)

This product is so easy to use, it glides onto my hair really well! I like the fact that I don't need to use too much of the product even though my hair is thick and curly!

After one use the texture of my hair felt so much smoother and less dry, I have to say I don't think it's a miracle worker on it's own! I cut my hair to get rid of split ends and to help improve the appearance of my hair as well as using repairing shampoo and conditioners such as the split end remedy from Herbal Essences. All of these things in conjunction with one another have helped my hair dramatically over a matter of weeks!

Packaging

This product has a pump application which helps to disperse an even amount of the cream, which allows you to control how much you use so you're not wasting any product by over-using.

Directions

 (Taken with Fujifilm HS10)
The directions say to apply 2-4 pumps of the product onto damp hair, I actually apply a little bit more than that as my hair is quite long and thick! I usually use about 6 pumps instead! Depending on your hair type you might use less, it's down to personal preference and what is right for your hair type.

I apply this product to my ends and mid sections of clean towel dried hair, I have to say I concentrate more on the ends of my hair as I feel that is where most of the damage occurs. I leave it on overnight and when I wake up my hair is glossy and soft!

You can wash it of the the next morning or style as usual. I usually use the product on freshly washed hair so instead of washing it off the next day I just apply curling serum and style my hair as normal. As my hair is curly I think I can get away with not washing the product out, my hair appears to have absorbed everything by the next morning.

You don't have to worry about your pillowcases getting ruined when leaving this product on as it doesn't stain!

I use this product twice a week as I feel that is what works best for my hair.

Pros

  • Non-greasy
  • Cheap
  • Smells great
  • Easy application
  • Doesn't stain your pillow

Cons

  • None that I can think of!

Have you tried this repair creme or anything similar? Let me know!

July Favourites

Hello everyone, hope you are well!

Here are my July Favourites, apologies for being a tad late but better late than never!
Most of the products are hair products as I have been working on getting my hair healthier.

 (Taken with Canon A3300is)

Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Split End Protection Cream 150ml
I use this after I've washed my hair and after using my Aussie Leave-in Conditioner. It helps to make my hair soft and more manageable. I have also noticed that it stops my hair from looking so frizzy too! This product has raspberry and silk extracts and smells incredible!!
It retails at around £4.79 but it is currently on offer in Boots (view offer)

Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Split End Protection Intensive Mask 200ml
Along with the other Spit End Protection products by Herbal Essences, I started using this Intensive Mask at the beginning of July and have to say my hair has improved so much! I have mentioned to you before that I prefer to use masks as I feel my hair needs more of a deep condition than what I get with a regular conditioner. I think this product is a must have! It is one of my top favourite hair masks! This product retails at £3.49 but is currently on offer in Superdrug (view offer)

Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Overnight Creme 120ml
I bought this at the end of June and since then I haven't stopped using it! It works really well on my hair and makes it feel really soft. I apply the product onto towel dried hair and leave it on my hair for the night, when I wake up the next morning my hair is so much more manageable and doesn't get knotted together as easily as it usually does! I will be doing a full review on this product so I don't really want to say too much about it here! This Overnight Creme retails at £4.99 but is currently on offer at Superdrug (view offer)

OXY Seaweed Power Fresh Skin Wash 150ml
You have probably been expecting this to be in my favourites since I did a full review on it which you can read here. I like how clean my skin feels after I've used it, the tiny microbeads help to work deep into the skin. This product is high quality and really inexpensive, for £5.99 you can't go wrong!

Soap & Glory Hand Food 125ml
I have been trying to grow my nails recently so as well as trying out hardening polishes I have been using hand cream more often to see if that helps them to grow. I love the smell of all Soap & Glory products and this is definitely no exception. The smell is amazing! This hand cream costs £5.00 which to me is very reasonable! I will definitely be repurchasing this!

Primark 'Tangle Teezer'
This 'Tangle Teezer' is brilliant, it cost me £1.50 and does a really great job of getting out knots in my hair without tearing. It is suitable to use on both wet and dry hair, I have been using this instead of a wide tooth comb since I got it. I think it works so much better than a comb. You can read my full review here.

I would love to know what products you were enjoying last month! Let me know in a comment!

L'Oreal EverStrong - Fragile/Brittle Hair

Hello everyone,

Today I'm going to talk about the L'Oreal EverStrong hair products for fragile and brittle hair. I fell in love with these products at the end of last month and thought I would share it with you today.

I started to noticed that my hair was feeling much drier throughout the past few months as I had been using quite a lot of heat stylers on my hair.
I decided to get myself some new hair care products as I don't feel I look after me hair as well as I should do sometimes. I bought the L'Oreal EverStrong Shampoo and Intensive Mask. Most of the time I prefer to use treatment masks instead of conditioner as I only wash my hair 3 times a week so I feel a deep conditioning treatment is what my hair needs the most.

As well as using these products, I have waved goodbye to my hair straighteners and said hello to my natural curly locks! I feel this has made such a difference to the condition of my hair and it seems to have grown quite abit too!

What L'Oreal say:
"EverSleek Reinforcing System: Non-sulphate cleansing for over-processed, fragile hair. Infused with botanical rosemary and juniper oils."

Shampoo (£5.99):
"Specifically designed for fragile and brittle hair, EverStrong Reinforcing & Vitality is a Reinforcing System that combines non-sulphate cleansing and conditioning care. The formulae are enriched with botanical rosemary and juniper oils. Hair looks shinier, smoother and protected."

Intensive mask (£6.99):
"Specifically designed for fragile and brittle hair, the EverStrong Nourishing Intense Mask combines reinforcing care with an indulgent conditioning treatment. The formula is enriched with botanical rosemary and mint oils. Hair looks shinier, smoother and protected."

(Pictures taken with iPhone 4s)

What I think:
I love these products, they really are amazing and work very well on my hair.
After just a few washes I notices my hair was feeling much softer with less breakage!
I love the fact they contain no sulphates it makes the product even more appealing!

Have you tried the L'Oreal EverStrong products yet?
